Financial Support to Graduate Students Visiting UN/International Organizations for Internship or Field Training assisted by UNESCO Chair WENDI

With the 2018 Kyoto University Zengaku-Keihi-Fund, we supported 25 graduate students for their overseas travels
including visits to UN/international organizations.

The objective of this project is to develop a university-wide financial support system for graduate students’
overseas travel, based on the GSAIS’s experiences and know-how to cooperate with UN agencies and international organizations
during the Shishukan Program (2011-2017) of the Program for Leading Graduate Schools by MEXT/JSPS.
This project provided graduate students with opportunities of internship, field training or preparation for these
by actually visiting UN agencies and/or international organizations.

Being cooperated by the Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability Studies (GSAIS or Shishukan),
the Global Survivability Studies Program (GSS) and the Kyoto University UNESCO Chair on Water, Energy and Disaster Management (WENDI).
this project called for students who would like to receive this financial support four times since summer 2018.
Selection committees that were formed by professors from several schools evaluated and adopted 25 applications in total.

We appreciate very much the 2018 Zengaku-Keihi-Fund for its valuable support to students who wrote their summary reports (2-4 pages) as uploaded below.
We also expect these reports are useful information for other students who would visit such UN agencies and international organizations in the near future.
