On December 19, 2023, Professor Yuichi Ikeda gave an invited lecture at a DAO study meeting of the Niigata Medical Association. The lecture titled “Why Healthcare DAO is necessary? -Money, Stocks, and Corporations in Cyberspace-“. After an overview of the utilization of medical information, he explained cryptographic assets and fundamental technologies by comparing the characteristics of money in physical space and cyberspace and explained contracts and smart contracts by comparing the characteristics of companies in physical space and cyberspace. Based on these understandings, he explained the general form of blockchain DAOs and proposed a specific proposal for its special form, the healthcare DAO. The lecture was very meaningful, as the doctors in the audience not only asked technical questions about healthcare DAOs but also made many comments based on the actual conditions of healthcare.
