Short Summary

The 12th International Symposium on Human Survivability continues the discussion about transdisciplinary education and research that we started at last year’s international symposium. At the 12th International Symposium on Human Survivability, we will discuss the lessons that can be learnt by Japanese universities from the practice of transdisciplinary education and research overseas. In particular, we will look into some examples of how transdisciplinary approaches have been applied in practice, and try to understand the reasons for their successes or failures. All GSAIS students and faculty members are required to participate actively in the 12th International Symposium.
