Professor Yuichi Ikeda Receives UBRI Connect 2025 Educator Award

In June 2025, Professor Yuichi Ikeda of the Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability at Kyoto University was selected as a recipient of the UBRI Connect 2025 Educator Award, presented by Ripple’s University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI).
This award recognizes educators who have made exceptional contributions to teaching and research at the intersection of blockchain technology and society. Professor Ikeda has developed an AI-enhanced DAO system to detect anomalies in crypto markets, incorporating advanced techniques such as Boltzmann machines and persistent homology. He also contributed to the EDISON-X blockchain energy platform by implementing machine learning automation, and built a decentralized identity system using smart contracts on XPRL.
In addition to these efforts, he leads a project on crypto network analysis at the Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI), and conducts interdisciplinary blockchain research at Kyoto University. He organizes the annual Blockchain Conference Kyoto (BCK), teaches a graduate-level course on blockchain economics, and mentors students engaged in related fields, making notable contributions in both research and education.
