The Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability (GSAIS) was established in 2013 based on the Leading Graduate School Program “Kyoto University Shishukan” (Shishukan program), which is run by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. The first students enrolled in 2012 belong to the other graduate schools in Kyoto University and take the courses of the Shishukan program. Admission to GSAIS started in 2013, and since then the students have enrolled in GSAIS and taken the courses of the Shishukan program, while many of them conduct their research in collaboration with other graduate schools and research institutes in Kyoto University.?
