This is NI Xuwen from China. I obtained my Bachelor degree in management from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University. I joined the Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability (GSAIS) in April 2018. My research at GSAIS is about the effectiveness of Chinese government policy towards startups in high-tech industries.
In 2014, China announced a new entrepreneurship policy called “mass entrepreneurship and innovation”, which went in force in 2015. In the past 5 years, the policy has brought an outstanding statistical record in terms of the number of newly established start-ups. However, how the supporting system works in particular and how the start-up entrepreneurs feel about the results from that policy is unclear. In my research, I would like to study empirically the effects of the “mass entrepreneurship and innovation” policy. I have conducted a field study in Hangzhou, China, by using questionnaires and in-depth interviews with start-up entrepreneurs.
