Born in Tokyo and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, I earned my B.A. in comparative literature at Georgetown University. After working as a copyeditor, I entered GSAIS. Currently, I’m applying network science to attitudes towards immigrants to find both the determinants of attitudes towards immigrants and which countries are more similar to each other in their attitudes. My research aims to expand research on attitudes towards immigrants by bringing in countries which are understudied in the field, e.g. developing countries, non-Western countries, non-liberal democracies, etc.
