A delegation from National Taipei University (NTPU), headed by Prof. Dalton Lin and Assoc. Prof. Hoomon Samani visited the Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability (GSAIS) on March 29, 2019. They met with Dean. Prof. Kaoru Takara, Prof. NaokoTosa and Prof. Ryohei Nakatsu of the GSAIS.
In the meeting, firstly Prof. Takara, Dean of GSAIS, introduced Kyoto University and GSAIS, focusing GSAIS’s research and education activities crossing and integrating various areas based on the concept of General Foundation Courses “Hashi.” Next, Prof. Dalton Lin from National Taipei University (NTPU) introduced NTPU generally including its history and then more specifically about College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), to which the two professors belong. NTPU is a relatively new university established in 1961 and is amongst top ranking universities in Taiwan in the area of law and commerce education. At the same time, Prof. Lin mentioned that it has recently focused research and education in science and technology. Then both parties carried out discussion on how GSAIS and EECS carry out collaboration and have agreed to continue such discussion.
