※ Announcement for the students who plan to apply for the Ph.D. program of the Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability (enrollment in April 2021)
Due to the spread of the coronavirus, normal English qualification and certification tests are currently suspended. Therefore, applicants may take the TOEFL-iBT Special Home Edition or IELTS Indicator at home and submit the score reports together with the rest of the application documents.
 
※Due to the special circumstances related to COVID-19, the Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability, Kyoto University, will conduct the entrance examinations entirely online on 29 and 30 August 2020. The online oral examination will include a part that corresponds to the written examination. Click here for more details.

※Regarding changing the method of sending the examinee card(jukenhyo 受験票)
The examinee card with the examinee’s number was supposed to be sent by mail. However, we decide to send a scanned copy (pdf file) of the examinee card by e-mail to the address registered in the Internet application system. Print out your examinee card by yourself and bring it with you on the day of the entrance examination. Be sure to keep the examinee card as it will be required for admission procedures.
Along with this, it is not necessary to submit the application document (7) “Stamp board for sending the examinee card by post”.


The Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability (Shishu-Kan) is a seamless 5-year doctoral program established under the program for leading graduate schools by MEXT. The schedule for application and the entrance examination (enrollment in the Academic Year 2021) is as follows.

Online registration for application: 9-27 July, 2020
Application documents must be received from 15 July to 27 July, 2020
Examination dates: 29 and 30 August, 2020

You will need to register online first, download and print the application documents, and physically mail the original to GSAIS.

Special Admission for International Students [NEW]

Applicants for whom the status of residence is “Study Abroad” or who are expected to obtain the status of residence “Study Abroad” at the time of admission must apply for “Special Admission for International Students”. You cannot apply for “General Entrance Examination”.

<Past Entrance Examination Questions>
Written examination questions (excluding questions for the Winter selection) for the past two years (without the sections that are copyrighted) will be available on Shishu-Kan’s web site. Prospective applicants who wish to view the questions directly at the Student Affairs Office (during working hours only) should bring an ID with a photo (one out of the following: student ID, driver’s license, passport, resident card, etc.). However, it’s not allowed to take copies.
